AmaZulu FC Supports HIV/ Aids Awareness Campaign


AmaZulu FC took some time off their busy schedule to support an initiative organized by Shell SA and
Muziwabantu Primary School in Ntuzuma.

The objective of the Program was to raise awareness about HIV/Aids and encourage people to open up so that we can break the stigma around this pandemic. 

The community of Ntuzuma came out in their numbers to support this initiative which consist of the following activities

Speeches from DR. Taki Dube , Local leaders , Love Life, AmaZulu FC and KZN Department of Health

  • Cultural Performance from the school kids
  • School Prize giving

Shell- SA‘s Promotions Assistant, Precious Gumede said The event was a huge success, now the challenge is to keep the momentum. It was great to see organisations like Shell, FNB, Cadbury, Avbob, MIET, AmaZulu FC and sponsors of the Love-life Campaign giving back to the community”.

School Principal, Miss P.P Khoza also shared her excitement about the event and appreciated the fact that even with a busy schedule, AmaZulu FC still found the time to attend their function, which took the whole day. 

She said “AmaZulu showed their support for this event and we are very proud of them for making the real difference in our community.  Our school is grateful for their contribution because this has left the kids and the community with happy faces and memories”.

One of the five AmaZulu players that attended the event, Marc Van heerden said “It’s important for us as soccer player to educate the youth about HIV / Aids so that they will understand the implications of this disease.”

AmaZulu went on to donate a football kit to the school’s football team and made a commitment to assist the school with coaching clinics.
